One of the beautiful perks of having a travel company, is being invited by all these wonderful establishments to come and stay when you give them guests. Because I made a big booking for during the World Cup at Constantia Uitsig I was invited to come and stay last week for dinner, bed & breakfast. Yay! What a treat! Driving into the wine lands just somehow slows you down, relaxes you completely and the silence is very welcome for a change. We first enjoyed a drink at the bar before heading to La Colombe, an award winning restaurant, nr 37 on the list of world’s best restaurant. Yes, we were def. in for a MASSIVE treat. How I just love food & wine! It’s def one of my favorite things to do and South Africa has so much to offer. Dinner was superb, the service was superb and we just enjoyed.
The next morning we didn’t really wake up till about 8 which for me is very very late. I normally get up around 6am. So only just in time for breakfast, we ordered it to the room. They served it in the garden. Perfect end of a short but relaxing visit to one of the most stunning places around Cape Town.
Make sure not to miss it when you visit. Constantia is the oldest wine producing area and has some fabulous estates like Constantia Uitsig, Groot Constantia, Buitenverwachting and Steenberg. Only 20 minutes from Cape Town!
