Design and Platteland food all in one place

Another lovely market to explore. Very excited I was when I received the invitation from Five Star PR to come and celebrate 6 months of trading. Time DOES fly when you’re having fun. And I had so much fun the last 6 months that I didn’t even have time to visit this awesome market, until last Saturday. While celebrating 6 months of trading, it was also the introduction of The Lock Stock Design market, the cities hottest creative designs.

Lovely food stores galore, a great venue, catching up with friends and an event well organized. We all received little gift vouchers to explore what was offered by the different vendors. I love the fact that the media pack was all made of natural / recycled materials. Well done Five Star PR. We LOVE green, responsible and sustainable events!

Within no time I eye balled the Belgium waffles with whipped cream and fresh strawberries. Well, I didn’t just eye ball them, I ate one as well, I WHOLE one, don’t be mistaken. Sorry, no pictures, I was busy eating…

Next we moved on to a Rooibos tea, wine and food pairing session presented by the lovely ladies of Creation Wines & Carmien Tea. I’d never ever thought of pairing tea, wine and food but it was quite incredible. Zipping wine then tasting a litte food and topped off with some delish Rooibos with spices, rose pettles and vanilla flavours.

Creation Wine I’d just visited last week in the Hemel & Aarde valley, stunning place, great wines and for lunch I must still go back. Carmien Tea, based in Citrusdal is brainstorming with the idea to organize a day on the farm where visitors can come and mix their own tea flavours. I think it will be a great hit and I will def. look out for this and gather a few friends to come along and make it into a weekend-getaway.

Last but not least I enjoyed a glass of Bubbly and some Oysters. We sat outside on the pavement and enjoyed the sun while catching up on all things in life. What a lovely Saturday afternoon.

The Palms market is held each 2nd week of the month BUT from November it will be each week. Well, I think we can’t have enough of those lovely markets and I will surely be back for more.
