Pizza night at Jason Bakery, Cape Town

Thursday nights in Cape Town you can’t go wrong if you start your evening at the top of Bree Street (the mountain side). We were planning to check out Falafel night at Sababa but ended up at Jason Bakery for Pizza and Whiskey night. Lovely! Falafel night only starts at 7pm and we met at 6pm (mistake on web site of Sababa). No problem at all. We will just have to do that another Thursday night. Jason’s was great. We already go here at least once a week to enjoy a morning cappuccino after hiking up Lions Head so checking it out in the evening was something new. It turns into a busy, vibrant pavement eatery and we felt like being in Europe. Ah, it was stunning! They serve a couple of very special pizzas and last Thursday you could also taste the Highlands Whiskey. I like my glass of red wine so I kept with that. My pizza, wow! I was so excited. It was deliciously different: duck with quince and pancetta, how awesome does that sound? It’s my new favorite pizza. My friend enjoyed her whiskey tasting while I enjoyed another glass of red. My pizza picture is not great so I suggest you just go and taste it tomorrow!
